Côte d’Ivoire employment barometer: what 2,638 job postings reveal in September 2026

In September 2026, 2,638 distinct online job postings show which roles and skills employers were seeking in Côte d’Ivoire.

We collected 2,822 postings from nine employment sites between 1 and 30 September. After removing duplicates and offers outside the country, 2,638 offers remained, or about 88 a day.

This barometer describes the postings observed on those sites. It does not measure every hire made in Côte d’Ivoire.

Sales roles lead the identifiable occupations

Among occupations that could be identified with sufficient confidence, sales and commercial roles account for 450 offers. Accounting and finance follow (233), then HR and payroll (147), tech and data (144), and marketing and communication (128).

Among sectors named in the postings, commerce and sales also lead with 421 mentions, ahead of finance and banking (320) and communication (277). A single posting can mention several sectors.

Another 895 job titles, or 33.9% of offers, cannot be assigned reliably to the broad occupational families studied.

Skills named in the postings

In sales, prospecting appears in 279 offers. Customer retention (139), negotiation (127) and customer relations (86) follow.

In finance, treasury (74), general accounting (62) and financial statements (51) are the most frequently cited skills. In HR, postings mainly mention recruitment (64), training (47) and payroll (33).

In tech and data, networking leads, followed by JavaScript, SQL, Docker, Java and Python. These mentions point to specific tasks: prospecting, managing cash flow, recruiting, administering networks, producing, maintaining, coordinating and managing stock.

The increase in tech postings needs confirmation

On the three sites that allow a consistent weekly comparison, postings in the tech and digital category rose from 18 in the first week to 30 in the fourth.

A recruitment campaign, a delay in publication or a difference in collection could produce the same result. One month cannot establish the cause. The coming months will show whether the increase continues.

Nearly three in four offers are based in Abidjan

Of the 2,638 offers studied, 1,933 are located in Abidjan, or 73.3%.

This proportion describes offers published on the sites monitored, not the location of every hire made in Côte d’Ivoire. For candidates looking for work online, the visible opportunities remain strongly concentrated around Abidjan.

Pay is missing from most postings

Only 114 of the 2,638 offers mention compensation. Of those, 52 state an amount in CFA francs and seven give a sufficiently clear monthly amount.

Those seven figures range roughly from 100,000 to 300,000 CFA francs, but refer to different jobs and conditions. They cannot support a reliable salary scale.

Candidates therefore rarely have this information when assessing an offer.

Education appears more often than experience

An education level appears in 77.3% of offers, compared with 19.4% that specify the experience sought. Among the 2,039 postings that mention education, 331 specify a Bac+2, 130 a Bac+3 and 85 a Bac+5.

Only 511 offers provide usable information about experience. Postings are more likely to specify the expected qualification than the level of seniority.

What September shows

Commerce and sales roles have a central place in the postings studied. Finance is also among the most frequently cited sectors. The increase observed in tech needs to be checked over several months.

Postings provide less detail about pay and experience. A substantial share of job titles cannot be classified reliably. These 2,638 offers describe the online job market visible across nine sites in September 2026, not every hire made in the country.

Future barometers will make it possible to track changes in the skills employers seek and compare them with those taught in training programs.
